new book coming May 29
It’Äôs finally done. There’Äôs A Slight Chance I Might Be Going to Hell: A Novel of Sewer Pipes, Pageant Queens and Big Trouble is scheduled to hit the shelves on May 29, 2007. And yes, you read right’Äîit’Äôs a novel, not a book of essays or column pieces, but a novel with characters, a story line and even an ending. The book a something of a departure for me, and at first it was a bit overwhelming. It ended up being one of the most fun things I have ever done, and I really loved it, which I didn’Äôt expect at all. I loved creating a little world all of my own where I could point to something and set it on fire, or blink and kill someone off. It was kind of like The Sims, I Dream of Jeanie and Bewtiched all rolled into one, and if living that for a year isn’Äôt your ultimate dream, I think we both know you’Äôre fibbing a bit. It rocked. Anyway, I hope everyone likes it, because I really wanna do it again.gth.htmlshapeimage_2_link_0
what I’Äôm working on now I am back at work on a new book, which will be a return to the regular first-person essay stuff. I’Äôm guessing that book will come out summertime, 2008 if all goes smoothly. I just contributed a piece to the new BARK anthology, Howl, which should be available on October, 2007. And I just built this website, after years of people telling me how shitty my website was. Well, there was a reason for that, it’Äôs a long story, and trust me, you don’Äôt care. Just suffice it to say that I hope this one looks better and is easier to navigate. } how is everybody? } Nana is doing well (she got a hearing aid and a perm! Yay!), I have a new nephew, I have a new dog, and I am sorry to relay that my old friend Barnaby, my cat of 19 years, ran into the Kitty Light this past December. We miss him, we loved him, but don’Äôt get any idea about giving me a kitten. I MEAN IT. I am planning on spending the rest of my life kitty pee free. RIP, Little Black Bastard, you whizzed on everything I owned.
I still live in Oregon and I am still not moving back to Phoenix.
